We are proud announce that we are supporting a new program launch for our partner in RV Rentals, Outdoorsy. Outdoorsy is gifting free road trips to healthcare heroes in the United States and Canada as a way to help them recover and recuperate once the peak of the Coronavirus pandemic is behind us. You can help when you “book one, we’ll give one”. This program will help make new memories for the healthcare workers that have given so much.
Book Now to Help
Trips booked from now until June 30, 2020, Outdoorsy will match the booking with free road trip nights donated to deserving healthcare workers. The road trip recipients will be selected through an open-to-the-public nomination process to win a three-day, two-night RV rental and an annual membership to one of our favorite boondocking sites, Harvest Hosts. We have used Harvest Hosts many times at wineries, farms museums and other unique places to stay a night for free in our RV. The winners will also receive a gift card to cover the costs of a stay at Kampgrounds of America (KOA), the world’s largest system of open-to-the-public campgrounds with more than 520 KOA campgrounds throughout North America. Every week, winners will be selected as more nominations and bookings are made.
You can get involved and give back in a few ways:
- Nominate a hero you know by sharing their story. Outdoorsy wants to hear about doctors, nurses, EMTs, or anyone working in healthcare who is making a difference and deserves a trip. Nominations can be submitted now in the nomination section of the program page.
- Book a trip and Outdoorsy will give a trip to a healthcare hero. With the ability to control your environment and travel close to home, road trips will likely be one of the first types of vacations we’ll be able to enjoy. By booking a trip now, you can feel good knowing a trip is also going to someone deserving for later.
- Turn your RV into a vehicle for doing good. RV owners who want to lend their vehicle to the cause can sign up in the contribute section of the program page.
Creative ways to give back
The inspiration for the program originated from an Outdoorsy professional owner GoCamp Campervans with the launch of their Road Trips for the Rock Stars program which is located in the Pacific Northwest. Outdoorsy brings this program to a national level.
