Top 3 RV Rental Companies

#1 Outdoorsy

We recommend Outdoorsy as the #1 RV rental company in the United States and Canada.

Outdoorsy has the best inventory, with the most rigorous application process for both the owner and the renter.

Their peer-to-peer platform ensures there is a true community when RV renters connect with RV owners.

Outdoorsy Stats

We rate Outdoorsy as #1 due to their amazing services that include:

    • Up to $1 million liability insurance in the US
Up to $1 million in physical damage protection
      Interior Damage Protection
      Windshield Damage Repair
      Trip Cancellation Coverage
      Driver Verification Checks
      24/7 Roadside Assistance
      24/7 Live Customer Support

Pricing

Outdoorsy’s RV rental prices are at or below the competition.

Since Outdoorsy uses the peer-to-peer platform, the RV renter saves money by dealing directly with the owners of the RV.

It is usually best to find and book your RV early in the season, as rentals are reserved quickly by others.  Some pricing changes based on the season as well.

Here are the average rental prices:

  • Class A: $175 to $275 per night
  • Class B: $100 to $200 per night
  • Class C: $150 to $200 per night
  • Travel Trailer: $50 to $125 per night
  • Fifth Wheel: $60 to $150 per night
  • Pop Up Trailer: $50 to $100 per night

These prices are based on average.  Depending upon the season, location and other factors, pricing can change dramatically.

Outdoorsy Reviews (4.88/5)

With over 55,000 reviews, Outdoorsy averaged 4.88 out of 5 stars.

Even better, Outdoorsy scored an A+ from the Better Business Bureau (BBB)

Not to mention, they did a profile on us in their Never Idle Journal

#2 RVshare

RVshare is another peer-to-peer RV rental site that ranks #2 based on its inventory, customer service, roadside assistance, and other valuable services.

Like Outdoorsy, RVshare has a full inventory of pop-up trailers rentals, van rentals, motorhome rentals, and camper rentals, and all RV rentals are searchable by location, prices, dates, and more.

RVshare Stats

Why RVshare is rated #2:

  • Up To $500,000 Liability & $200,000 RV Value Coverage Insurance
  • 24/7 RV Rental Roadside Assistance
  • Pet-friendly RV’s
  • Wide-ranging inventory options
  • Safe and Trusted

Both RVshare and Outdoorsy began around the same time and although competition is great for the renter, we recommend Outdoorsy because they have better insurance coverages, a mobile app that helps considerably, and the items we listed above.

Pricing

RVshare’s RV rental prices are a close second to Outdoorsy, however, you have to take insurance, roadside assistance, and other variables into consideration when comparing.

RVshare is also a peer-to-peer platform that keeps pricing attractive.

Depending upon the season, location, and other factors, pricing can change dramatically.

RVshare Reviews (4.2/5)

With just short or 1,700 reviews, RVshare averaged 4.2 out of 5 stars.

RVshare has also increased their score from a B- to an A+ from the Better Business Bureau (BBB)

#3 RVezy

RVezy is the newest big contender in the peer to peer marketplace.  This RV rental company is based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and they are the next up and coming RV rental company.

RVezy is the largest and most affordable RV rental marketplace that allows Canadian and American travelers to rent RVs in North America (excluding Mexico) in a safe and affordable way. They provide all the insurance for the RV when it is being rented out. The renter and RV owner will be fully protected during every rental.

RVezy Stats

RVezy is still mostly a Canadian RV Rental company, however, they are becoming a much stronger presence in the United States and will be a force to be reckoned with.  As of this post, they are gaining market share in California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, and Florida.  Check out RVezy if you want to list your RV or rent an RV in Canada or the USA.  The RV rentals they offer are usually less expensive overall than Outdoorsy and RVshare and RVezy offers the same insurances that both of their competitors offer as well.

RVezy is North America’s top-rated RV rental marketplace, providing outdoor enthusiasts with a safe and affordable way to rent unique and authentic RVs from private owners. As an owner first platform, RVezy has empowered thousands of RV entrepreneurs to share their passion and earn additional income when their RVs are not in use. With comprehensive insurance coverage, 24/7 roadside assistance, an easy-to-use app, and best-in-class support, RVezy is the easiest and most secure way to rent an RV.

RVezy Reviews (9.4 out of 10)

On Verified Reviews, RVezy scored a 9.4 out of 10, which speaks well for this newer company.

BONUS RATING #4 Cruise America

Cruise America RV Rental Sales

Unlike the peer-to-peer interaction that you get with Outdoorsy and RVshare, Cruise America is very corporate.

Offering 125 different locations throughout the USA and Canada, they do have a large footprint, however they only offer motorhome type RV’s.  They do not offer camper vans, pop ups, fifth wheels, trailers or other types of RV’s that Outdoorsy and RVshare offer.

Cruise America Page

Cruise America Stats

Cruise America does have a large footprint (still smaller than Outdoorsy and RVshare) however the pricing is much more expensive and based on the reviews below, it may not be worth the hassle.

Cruise America Reviews (1.1/5)

With no so great reviews, Cruise America averaged 1.1 out of 5 stars.

If that’s not bad enough, they receive the lowest rating possible, an F from the Better Business Bureau (BBB

  1. If you are new to RVing or don’t know which particular RV is right for you, renting an RV is great. A pro tip for you is that before you rent a RV don’t forget to get a walk through from the owner. Happy camping!
